Chicago Veterans Ruck March: 2018

Friday, May 25th 2018

It’s back, and our largest Ruck March yet!!

Every Memorial Day weekend, veterans, family members and friends come together to honor and remember those we lost at home and on the battle field.

A new VA study released shows the number of veteran suicides have dropped from 22 to 20 veterans a day. What we and other organizations are doing collectively is making a difference.

We invite you to join us this year and help raise awareness of veteran suicide and fight this epidemic. If you’re as passionate about our cause as we are, we encourage you to sign up for the Ruck March, volunteer for the event, create a fundraising page, or if you’re up for it, do all three! This will be an amazing and emotional event we now you will be proud of.

Our goal is to honor our fallen brothers and sisters and raise as much awareness as possible of PTSD and veteran suicide through our 20 mile Ruck March, from Glencoe to Chicago’s lake shore drive.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate calling us at 312-450-3160 or by email at

Don’t forget to use #RuckitChicago when posting your fun photos on social media!

Our Official 2018 Partner

You’d think that coming home would be the easy part. But transitioning from military to civilian life is often a challenge. The Road Home Program at the Center for Veterans and Their Families at Rush provides timely and confidential support, counseling and veteran health services to help you and your family understand, heal from and cope with the invisible wounds of war. You aren’t in this alone.

Services at the Road Home Program are provided regardless of discharge status or ability to pay.
