For over seven years, Roll Call Chicagoland has been a vital resource for veterans seeking employment opportunities and networking connections, uniting veterans, service members, and their families with corporate partners, mentors, employment resource groups, and career pathways. This month, Roll Call Chicagoland had the incredible opportunity to host its monthly event at Google’s headquarters in Chicago, marking a significant moment in the program’s history.

Google provided an exceptional networking space, along with food and drinks for all attendees. Guests had an opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about Google and employment opportunities. Veterans, service members, and their families had the chance to connect with Google employees and leadership, as well as engage with Google’s Veterans Network, “VetNet.” This internal community of military veterans, service members, civilian allies, and family members is dedicated to unifying, connecting, and supporting military communities.

The event set a new record for Roll Call Chicagoland, with over 200 RSVPs and more than 100 veteran job seekers in attendance. This gathering represented a milestone, offering veterans a unique opportunity to explore career options at one of the world’s top tech companies while learning about Google’s work culture and open positions. Additionally, attendees had access to mentors and other professionals, expanding their networks and opening new doors.

During the event, Roll Call Chicagoland shared exciting news—a major donation from the Pritzker Foundation! The Pritzker Military Foundation will match all donations to Roll Call on a $1-for-$1 basis, up to $20,000 in matched funding. This generous support will significantly boost the program’s ability to serve veterans. If you’d like to help Roll Call Chicagoland meet its $20,000 match, click here to donate.

This event not only marked a new chapter in Roll Call’s growth but also underscored the program’s profound impact on the veteran community. As Roll Call moves forward, it remains dedicated to empowering veterans and building strong connections that lead to successful careers across diverse industries.
