We’re a community of military Veterans, family members and supporters who share a common passion for helping those who have served in our military. We provide opportunities for Veterans to meet, network, learn and build meaningful relationships with one another to help take control of their transition throughout life.

Chicago Veterans Ruck March
Every Memorial Day weekend, thousands of veterans, family members, and friends from all over the United States come together to walk 20 miles through Chicago to raise awareness around PTSD and help end the Veteran suicide epidemic. According to the Department of Veteran Affairs, an average of 20 Veterans commit suicide each day. Join us as we raise awareness and help end Veteran suicide.
"Our Mission is to Empower Military Veterans to take Control of their Transition Throughout Life.”
Empowerment is based on the idea that giving Veterans the resources, opportunities, purpose, and motivation they need to become more productive in their communities.
We define empower as sharing information and building meaningful relationships to help take control of one’s transition throughout life and their overall well-being.
The concept of empower consists of three core components – Camaraderie, Employment and Education.
SOCIAL SUPPORT SYSTEM
We strive to help maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of Veterans.
Creating pipelines into careers by helping mitigate hiring barriers Veterans face.
EDUCATIONAL PEER SUPPORT
We use a unique Peer-to-Peer and group mentorship approach.
Please visit us at one of our upcoming events, we host an average of 60+ per year
FROM THE FIELD.
"If it wasn't for Chicago Veterans. I would be part of the statistic" [referring to the 20+ Veterans who commit suicide every day in America].
"I wish this group existed in 1979 when I left the Marine Corps, it would have saved me and my loved ones a lot of heartache."
“If it wasn’t for Chicago Veterans, I would not be where I am today. Veterans I knew when I got home were my friends, but they weren’t pushing me the way this organization does. This community has pushed me to do better. They made me believe in myself more than I already did. “
"Chicago Veterans is the key to my successful transition!"
“It’s a great feeling being surrounded by individuals that are so selfless and care so much about their community, I was welcomed with open arms, they are stuck with me now!”
