Raising a Glass to Women Veterans

Our Chicago Veterans community recently came together to host a fun and educational “Sip & Salute: A Women Veterans’ Wine & Mocktail Tasting Event.” Led and organized by Women Veterans in our community.

Our Women Veterans Events Program is dedicated to creating spaces that uplift and empower women veterans. In a community where men make up the majority of veterans, we recognize the importance of tailored events that honor the unique experiences of women who have served. These gatherings provide a supportive platform for women veterans allowing them to address the distinctive challenges they face.

At Sip & Salute, Women Veterans had the opportunity to, connect, bond, and make new friends while being introduced to tasty non-alcoholic mocktails—an alternative drink option that’s gaining traction in our society. We believe in the importance of learning about non-alcoholic options, especially in a society where alcohol-centric events are prevalent. By introducing our community to non-alcoholic drinks, we aim to promote inclusivity and provide options for those who choose not to consume alcohol.

Our event featured Wines for Humanity, a renowned Wine Tasting Event company, guiding guests through an exquisite selection of fine wines sourced from award-winning vineyards worldwide. Not only did guests savor delightful wines, but a portion of the proceeds directly supported families in our community facing homelessness.

Additionally, we were joined by Mocktails by Drinks by a Diva, offering a masterclass where veterans could learn and create their own expertly crafted mocktails. This hands-on experience further underscored the importance of events that celebrate and uplift our women veterans, fostering inclusivity, unity, and support within our veteran community.

If you missed out on this event, don’t worry—there will be more opportunities to connect and celebrate the strength of women veterans. Reach out to us to learn more about our Women Veteran Events and how you can get involved.

Let’s continue to honor and empower our women veterans, one event at a time.
