Since Chicago Veterans began focusing on creating impactful events for women veterans, our women veteran community has grown significantly. Although women veterans represent only 10% of the veteran population in Chicago, they make up nearly 50% of our Chicago Veterans community, underscoring the importance and need for these events.

We aim to honor their service, strengthen community bonds, and recognize their incredible contributions to our country and community. Among the various activities organized throughout the year, this month was a Women Veterans Boat Sunset Cruise on Lake Michigan, where over 40 women veterans gathered together.

Chicago Veterans is dedicated to supporting women veterans through various events and initiatives. These events are hosted, organized, and led by women veterans in our community. Whether it’s a thrilling day on the lakefront, a quiet gathering to share stories, or a workshop to learn new skills, these activities are crucial for fostering a strong, supportive community.

It’s essential that we continue creating opportunities for women veterans to connect, ensuring they feel valued, understood, and supported. A strong, united community can help them navigate life after service, celebrate their achievements, and face challenges together. To the women veterans of Chicago and beyond: we salute you and welcome you to our community.
