Back in 2015, when Chicago Veterans were still trying to grow the organization, they had a crazy vision of bringing together all military veterans in the Chicagoland area from every branch to celebrate veterans day as one community. They weren’t exactly sure how they would host an event like this or if people would want to attend but they believed in their vision.

They didn’t have the resources but took a gamble and went all in, they knew if this first Chicago Veterans Ball wasn’t a success, Chicago Veterans would most likely not be able to exist anymore. The CV team worked around the clock marketing and advertising their first Chicago Veterans Ball, it was all or nothing.

Sales leading up to the event were very poor but they did not lose focus. The team kept making phone calls, hanging posters at local VA and VFW/American Legion posts, they handed out flyers and built a following on social media. Within the last 30 days of the event, they had less than a third of the tickets sold and they weren’t sure if they would even be able to afford to host the event.

They continued to push harder and turned their focus to attracting veterans at the local posts. They sold a few more tickets and then a few more came in. All of a sudden they started seeing an influx of tickets sold and within 2 weeks of the event, they sold out!

This event has grown so much from 120 guests in 2015 to over 360 guests at their sold out 4th Annual Chicago Veterans Ball in 2018. Chicago Veterans hopes every veteran and supporter has a chance to experience what makes this event so special and celebrate the achievements of an extraordinary veteran community at their Annual Chicago Veterans Ball!
